Research Cooperations
funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG):
In order to optimize the treatment of stroke patients, this project is developing the possibility of EEG recording in the ambulance. Valuable data can be collected during transport and then transferred directly to the hospital infrastructure when the patient is picked up.
The prerequisite for this is the standardized DICOM EEG.
With a newly developed EEG cap, epilepsy patients should be able to carry out regular EEG recordings independently at home. The data is transmitted to the supervising clinic, where it is automatically evaluated and assessed by a specialist.
Standardized DICOM EEG is used to store the recordings. The analysis results are stored in a newly standardized DICOM Structured Report
Goal of this cooperation is using DICOM for storing neurological signal data - especially EEG. As a proof of concept proprietary EEG data will be converted to DICOM Waveforms and stored in a DICOM Archive (PACS). Focus in this project is on data from epilepsy-monitoring.
In cooperation with the standaridzation bodies we are going to extend the existing DICOM Waveform specifications.
This project examines if DICOM Waveforms are suiteable to store data from sleep labs (polysomnograms).
Polysomnograms are challenging because of their broad variety of acquired measures, the size of the accumulated data, and the need to keep synchronicity to video.
